Best Chinese food in The Dalles and it's not even close. They are open for take out and delivery during the lockdown.

Best Chinese food in The Dalles. Never made me sick. The owner/manager is the nicest guy ever. My partner and I are regulars! Also, if you dine in, it's like a dive bar without the bar. My partner and I usually do take out.

We've been meaning to try Oriental Café for a while and we finally gave it a shot. WOW! We are excited about the dinner we had tonight. The chicken, soup and noodles were fantastic! We will definitely be eating here more often. Friendly service and warm and inviting place to eat!

This food is spectacular and delicious!! I moved to the Dalles area in April and miss all the fancy Portland restaurants, but I gotta say, Orient Cafe is right at the top of any Portland restaurants!!! Their food is absolutely delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection!!! Honestly go!!! The building isn't fancy but the food is perfection ❣️

Do not let the old forgotten marquee sign out front, the buildings look or size, or it's surroundings turn you away. There's some really good food in here for the price! Seems like only one guy waits on people, he's friendly and always keeps up with the pace.

Great food, good prices. This is the best Chinese in The Dalles. Don't let the outside fool you this dive like Diner should be on Drive-In diners and dives.

Can I give ten stars? Greeted warmly by the babies as we entered, menus arrived immediately with tea, our food order was taken and came in good time. We have eaten here for years, and the food is always marvelous, tasty, delicious and plentiful

Horrible service(had to ask for many items that would be normal service), food was bad-(too much celery not enough chicken), chicken subgum was actually chicken chow mein, had to ask for extra crispy noodles, card machine wasn't working-cash and check only?!?!. My first and last time eating here. Michael is missed and was amazing according to friends I went with! Bad new owners, bad service....wont go back!

The food is fabulous and they are very generous with it! Jim, the server, takes great care of his customers. I stop there every time I drive through The Dalles. It is totally worth it!

Been eating here for 3 years now as I work next door so it’s been affordable and very good food. Like every business, they have their ups and downs.. I gave a not so good review and I would like to take that back as they have showed me that they will go out of their way to keep customers coming back. I will definitely be eating there again soon.

Yummy food. You get a lot for your money. Sort of and old Malt shop converted into an Asian restaurant. Still has the original retro bar stools and counter from the 60s . It’s not a Pretty place across from Tum A Lum Hardware store. In an industrial area of town. But the owner and cook are great and talented people. It’s fast and delicious.

Decent food, just a couple issues. I had the number 11. I was kinda grossed out by my broccoli beef and orange chicken sharing sauce. The crab puffs were just awful. The filling was ok but the wrap was like thick soft fried tortilla. I don't know what it actually was but it wasn't light and crispy like most crab puffs. Good things- decent price, great orange sauce, and great BBQ pork.

It looks a bit old, but they serve the best Chinese. Well worth the stop.

A must stop. Not very pretty from the outside, bathroom (men's) is tiny but clean. Functional on the inside. However, great food and a great price. Best egg flower soup I ever had. Service is fast and friendly. Food is served immediately off the wok. Parking is adequate for normal cars, can be a real challenge for larger rigs or ones with trailers. Simple to get there going West bound, a bit more complicated going East bound. Until Casa Midador moved to the North side of the freeway it was one of the only eateries on that side. If you are in a hurry, not looking for frills like beer or other alcoholic drinks, this is the place to go. No MSG ever!

Looks like a dive, but has EXCELLENT food and their fried food is very clean tasting. Great portions and good prices. Best Chinese in town.

I didn't care for my meal. The rice tasted funny and the noodles (pan fried) Andrew the thinnest and so chewy. I LOVED my Pork Foo Yung, but not a very big portion and only one. It took at least 45 minutes to get our meal, 2 of us, and there were only about 6 tables with between 2-4 guests. I will not go there again.

This place looks less than perfect from the outside, but it's clean and nicely decorated, and the food is so so good.

Dependably delicious, cooked to perfection Chinese food. The people here are kind and polite. The building is an old cafe location with counter seating as well as booths and tables. It's a cozy place so if you don't like sitting where you can hear other people's conversations you might feel awkward if someone overshares.They have a little tv on behind the counter at a low volume. It's usually tuned to the news.This is a good restaurant for families and date night. Takeout service is available and ready in a jiffy.The only con is that the restrooms are small. As a plus size lady I feel a bit claustrophobic.

Fresh fresh fresh! We came expecting ok food, as one would assume coming in so late and close to closing. They are defiantly NOT taking short cuts! We had sweet & sour chicken, almond chicken, and moo goo guy pan all worth side of pork fried rice. The food packed to go was HOT! The pork was moist, the chicken was crispy, and veggies were freshly cooked to perfection. Even the fortune cookies were higher quality. It's a small place we will definitely be returning!

Ordered from lunch menu, 3 items for $6.50 , picked up, cost over $10 food was old and hard. Reheated . Not good.

NEW LAVENDER MILK TEA WOW 😍. I stopped here on a whim and was delighted by some of the best Chinese food of my life. We had amazing noodle bowls, hot & sour soup, and the tea, a new recipe that the owner was excited to let us sample, was out of this world! So good! I'll be back every time I drive by.
